Introduction to Master Shi Guangding
Basic Information
Master Shi Guangding, commonly known as Nie Changjiang, pen name Tu Bi Yi Monk.
Born in Hengyang, Hunan in 1969, he has been immersed in the humanistic and Buddhist charm of Mount Heng since childhood, deeply influenced by it. Currently residing at Baolin Temple on Lantau Island in Hong Kong, and also serving as the abbot of Chaofeng Temple in Chaoyang Kaiyuan Temple, Shantou, Guangdong.
Inheritance of the Dharma Vessel
The lineage of the Dharma Master is deeply rooted, and he is the 21st generation lineage of Master Shanhaiming of Shuangguitang, the 31st generation of Linji Sect, and the 47th generation lineage of Tiantai Sect.
Practice experience
The monk was born into a devout Buddhist family and often accompanied his parents to the Nanyue Buddhist Temple to pay respects to the Buddha. He was enlightened by Master Mingzhen, bestowed with the Dharma name, and guided in the practice of calligraphy. From then on, he planted the seeds of Bodhi and the karmic bond of calligraphy. Despite coming from a humble family background, he had lofty aspirations and persevered in his studies, ultimately obtaining a college degree through self-study.
In 2005, due to a combination of fate and circumstances, Master Xia Chun officially shaved his head and became a monk in Luofu Mountain, Huizhou, Guangdong, with the Dharma name "Guangding". From then on, he devoted himself to the practice of Buddhism. After traveling to study abroad, he has conducted in-depth research on teaching philosophy at various locations such as Baolian Temple in Hong Kong and Nanhua Temple Buddhist College in Guangdong; Worship Shaolin monk Shi Changyue for practicing martial arts and Zen meditation; Upon receiving the personal teachings of the venerable monk of Mount Putuo in Zhejiang, his wisdom and achievements have continued to grow day by day. Always take the precepts as a teacher, establish good relationships, and practice the path of "unity of knowledge and action" in spiritual cultivation.
Employment History
The monk is currently a resident of Baolin Temple on Lantau Island, Hong Kong, and also serves as the abbot of Chaofeng Temple in Chaoyang Kaiyuan Temple, Shantou City.
In August 2025, officially appointed as the abbot of Feilong Temple in Zijin County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province.
artistic achievement
The master has been studying calligraphy since childhood and has been working tirelessly for decades. He has deeply studied ancient calligraphy and integrated his own ideas, forming a unique artistic style. His works have been invited to be engraved on many famous mountain scenic spots and have been widely circulated. In 2024, he won the gold medal in the "Huaxia Cup" of the National Calligraphy and Painting Competition, demonstrating his profound artistic achievements.

The master uses calligraphy as a medium and Buddhism as the essence, integrating the wisdom of Prajnaparamita into his brush and ink, and is committed to spreading Buddhism through culture and art. At the same time, with compassion in mind, actively engaging in charitable causes, practicing the spirit of Buddhism's self-interest and serving society, deeply respected by the four disciples.
Master Shi Guangding is a practitioner who integrates Buddhism and art, practices meditation and compassion. With his pure precepts, exquisite calligraphy skills, and willingness to spread the Dharma, he continues to write a chapter of self-conscious cultivation.
